Inora and Siegmeyer arrive at Dragonhawk Reagents, a components shop, where Inora purchases some Hathil Root for herself and some Dragonseye Acorns for Áinfean, then they head to the Aundairian Army Surplus Depot for javelins. After buying javelins and a new bag to carry "surplus" javelins around from "disillusioned" customer service employee, they head to the jewelry store to sell some pearls. On the way, Siegmeyer sees a giant cathedral with Silver Flame iconography.
Thakharad and Aramades head towards The University of Wynarn to see what they can find in the library. On the way they see a goblin giving a protest speech in front of the school. When he disparages the Queen of Aundair the guards move in and begin beating him. He asks for help but is ignored as they continue inside. Inside an orc student named Gornack jostles Thakharad, who calls him a jerk. Gornack turns around and tries to make something of it, Aramades talks Thakharad into walking away. Gornack takes a potshot but Aramades counterspells. Gornack then challenges Thakharad that "I can knock you down before you can knock me down" and bets his clan ring. Aramades "warns" Thakharad that killing a student will hurt their chances of viewing the library. Gornack goes to punch Thakharad but misses, and Thakharad banishes him. They continue on and find the library closed. Aramades sends an arcane eye to look for the books they want and they head towards the Dean's office, passing a breathlessly screaming Gornack sprawled in the courtyard. The Dean is giving a very unconvincing speech about how the library will reopen soon, and that a student absolutely did NOT disappear in the library. After he departs a bloody goblin runs by and tosses a sack at Aramades, when Aramades doesn't catch it, it lands at Thakharad's feet. Aramades and Thakharad decide to get into the library via the catacombes.
Edouart has a brick of drugs in the carriage and panics when they are pulled over, but Beyro talks their way out of a traffic violation. Beyro arrives at the consulate and finds his uncle getting his ass handed to him in a rapier duel before several members of other houses in the garden. Stepping away to speak Umbero asks what progress has been made in the past 2 weeks. After learning that they were drugged asleep and have only just regained consciousness Umbero asks if Beyro needs more assistance. Beyro apologizes that they haven't made the progress his uncle wants, and Umbero apologizes for being short with Beyro after his loss put him in a poor humor. He informs Beyro that the group needs to get off the street as the woman he is dueling with is a House Deneith marshall, who is searching for the group. Beyro immediately sends Perrin and Edouart to get the others into hiding.

Winter is glad to see Áinfean and seems to recognize her, but Áinfean fails to convince her that what is happening isn't real. When the door breaks below to the creatures Áinfean tries to fly them away but can't. Desperate she tries slapping Winter, to jar her awake. Winter pushes Áinfean who falls from the lighthouse, impacts the ground and wakes up.
Siegmeyer is given a circlet by a small blind woman who creeps him out. Inora sells the pearls to a "legitimate" pawn shop known as ir'Uvanto Family Antiquities. Siegmeyer asks if the pawn broker, Leona ir'Uvanto, knows how to find someone, but then manages to put her off enough that she retracts her initial offer of help. They head towards the library to meet their group and run into a badly injured goblin. Siegmeyer heals Rans'kothuss, who is very grateful and warns him that he should cover up his Silver Flame insignia because it's not safe to show here. Rans says that he owes Siegmeyer one, and that if he ever needs help to come to the old defunct Silver Flame cathedral. The pimp landlord, Charm, is a decent guy and he's sure that he can put in a good word for Siegmeyer. Rans asks if they have seen his bag, and when asked what it contains says "…drugs?"
After leaving Rans, Inora asks Siegmeyer to try and be more discreet. They meet up with Thakharad and Aramedes. When asked about his blood covered bag Thakharad explains he "might sell it" and Siegmeyer says maybe he shouldn't… but doesn't mention that he thinks the horn is drugs. After much discussion they are talking about entering the catacombs when Edouart shows up, very agitated. He explains the presense of the House Deneith marshall and they all summon the various party members and hurry to the catacombs.
